Four federal party leaders of Canada took part in a debate on live tv Thursday night.
It was a lively two hour exchange of criticism and policies, with Conservative Party Leader Stephen Harper on the defensive for much of the evening.
He says this election is about who has the proven experience to keep Canada safe and the economy strong.
Harper says under their government, the country has the top economic growth, best job creation and top growth in middle-class income families of any of the advanced-developed nations.
NDP leader Tom Mulcair says his top priority is kick-starting the Canadian economy and get more people working.
Mulcair pledged to invest in local infrastructure and help small businesses create new jobs.
He notes he will do that by maintaining a clean environment.
Liberal leader Justin Trudeau is once again promoting a stronger economy for the middle class.
He says that will result in a country that will work for everyone.
Trudeau and Mulcair both took Harper to task about what they called his poor economic record.
While Green Party Leader Elizabeth May took on all other parties over broken environmental promises.
Friday, the leaders are staying in Ontario.
Tom Mulcair visits Oshawa, Peterborough and Perth.
Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau remain in the Toronto area with their campaigns.
Elizabeth May also has events in Toronto before travelling to Thunder Bay.
