Federal tax holiday explained

The federal tax holiday is in full effect.

That means, you won’t have to pay any taxes on certain purchases from now until after Feb. 15.

The list of tax-free things includes food from restaurants and stores, children’s clothes and toys, as well as physical video games and books.

Christmas trees qualify, but regular holiday decorations do not.

You don’t need to save receipts to get the tax break either.

Businesses will simply not charge taxes on those items at the register.
