Federal Trades Deal Reached

Canada’s Premier’s are taking steps to make it easier for those in trades to work in any province or territory.

The new agreement will increase labour mobility and ensure apprentices have their education and training recognized in other jurisdictions.

The deal was struck during the Council of the Federation premiers’ meeting in Newfoundland and Labrador.

It means apprentices will not be required to acquire more training or certification.

The measures should be in place by 2016.
