As expected, the Federal government has filed a formal notice of a challenge under the North American Free Trade Agreement combating recently announced U.S. duties against Canadian softwood lumber exports.
The Trudeau Liberals call the duties unfair and unwarranted.
In a statement, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland vows to forcefully defend Canada’s softwood lumber industry.
