Feds Look To Even The Pricing Field

The Harper government wants to stop the pricing practices of companies that charge more for identical products in Canada than they do in the United States.

Studies show that we pay 10%-25% more for consumer goods than Americans pay.

Mike Lake, the assistant to the Industry Minister, says the Price Transparency Act will give the competition commissioner sweeping powers to investigate such discrepancies including the ability to get a court order to get the information required.
