The federal government is taking six aboriginal communities to court for not complying with the new First Nations Financial Transparency Act.
According to the office of the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, out of 582 First Nations, 48 have not complied.
The legal action impacts communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Bernard Valcourt says the Federal Government will also withhold funding from Aboriginal communities who don’t follow the Legislation.
