Fewer Impaired Driving Charges

The Ontario Provincial Police say they charged fewer drivers with impaired driving during last month’s festive RIDE program than in the 2007 campaign.
Figures for December’s provincial-wide initiative reveal a 13.5% drop in the number of charges laid over a year ago.
National President of MADD Canada Margaret Miller says it shows the message about the consequences of drinking and driving is getting out.
The number of driver suspensions declined by almost 13%.
