Fighting Invasive Species

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has set up invasive
species hit squads across the province.
The squads are made up of post-secondary students who educate
communities in invasive species prevention.
Spokesperson Hayley Anderson says a number of invasive species,
including the round gobie and purple loosestrife, are creeping into Northwestern Ontario.
Anderson suggests round gobies could be transported into the region as
bait.
She says purple loosestrife is hearty in the Winnipeg River area.
