The Provincial Government is pledging $350-million to help
stimulate new investment in the forest sector.
The loan guarantees follow the final report from the Council on Forest
Industry Competitiveness released Monday.
Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay says the money will address
problems facing the industry, such as wood supply and rising energy costs.
Ramsay says the Province will work on implementing some of the
recommendations contained in the 53 page report in the very near future.
17 representatives from the forest industry, municipalities and first
nations produced the report.
