The lone occupant of an Albert Street home was unharmed following a
fire Wednesday night around 7:30.
The Dryden Fire Service arrived to heavy smoke and crews were able to
shut off power to the gas furnace and ventilated the toxic deadly smoke
from the home.
An investigation determined the furnace limit switch had malfunctioned
causing the fire.
Deputy Fire Chief Ken Kurz says the homeowner was alerted by the
basement smoke alarm.
Kurz reminds residents to test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
