The Ministry of Natural Resources had their hands full with grass
fires over the weekend.
Crews responded to 4-new starts in the Dryden area alone, including
2-along the CP Rail tracks.
The most serious was a 3-hectare blaze in Vermilion Bay that started
near the Water Treatment Plant.
The high winds and dry conditions caused some concern among homeowners
in the area, however crews quickly got a handle on the situation.
The MNR is investigating the cause of the blaze.
The largest fire in the Region was in the Fort Frances area where a
194-hectare blaze is now under control.
