Oxdrift & Dryden Fire Service’s were dispatched by 911 to a Theil Road garage fire at 12:33 today (Feb 16). On arrival crews found a large garage fully ablaze. Three attack lines were put into place to knock down the main fire within 1 hour, while multiple small explosions occurred inside the garage, and propane tanks were wetted down outside against the garage.
Four Dryden Fire units and 14 Firefighters, assisted for two hours, Oxdrift Fire had five units and 10 Firefighters on scene for about 3 hours, to mop up the burnt out garage. A water shuttle was conducted by Oxdrift, Dryden, & Wabigoon Fire tanker trucks from a Dryden Scott St. hydrant. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oxdrift Fire Department, & O.P.P.
