The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking the public to use extreme caution the next couple of days with outdoor fires.
The fire hazard is expected to jump to high to extreme across the northwest Tuesday because of warm weather, high humidity and possibly windy conditions.
In fact the UV Index is expected to reach nine.
There is also the potential for lightning on Wednesday.
It’s quiet right now with only three new starts over a five day period, ending Monday.
They were small fires in the districts of Red Lake, Kenora and Fort Frances.
Currently, there is one active fire burning in an isolated area near the Ontario-Manitoba boundary.
