Fire Hazard High to Extreme

The Northwestern Fire District recorded 20,000 lightning strikes
Sunday, pushing the fire hazard to high to extreme.
The Ministry of Natural Resources reported 9-new fires on Monday in the
Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Kenora and Nipigon areas.
Information Officer Travis Moffatt says the warm conditions and the threat of more lightning strikes later this week has fire crews on high alert.
Moffatt notes all fire crews that had been dispatched to Quebec have
returned home and are ready to go.
