Fire Near Deer Lake

Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews were called into action on
the weekend after 12 new wildfires in the Northwest District.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says a majority of the blazes were
lightning caused and difficult to handle because of their location.
McLean says the most serious fire is burning about 10-kilometres east
of Deer Lake.

n024 runs: 20 sec. out…as well.

McLean says the 100-hectare blaze is not under control but notes its
not threatening the First Nation community.
