Fire Season Continues to Heat Up

It’s the busiest time of the year for fire crews across Northern Ontario.
Fire information officer Debbie MacLean says 15 forest fires were reported in March alone.
Weather specialists from the Ministry of Natural Resources have confirmed Northern Ontario had below normal snowfall and precipitation resulting in dry conditions.
Fire crews, air-crafts and water bombers are currently conducting spring training.
MacLean reminded residents of the new forest fire emergency number: 310 – FIRE. She hopes this number will be more convenient for residents.
