The Ministry of Natural Resources is focusing on training as the 2005
fire season has officially arrived.
The month of April will likely consist of refresher courses for crews
and equipment checks.
Information Officer Deb McLean says as far as fire activity, they
don’t know what to expect.

It likely will be busier then 2004, when the Region had a record low
number of 210 fires burning 1,300 hectares of land.
