Fire Season Wrapping Up

It has been one of the busiest fire seasons on record for Northwestern Ontario crews.
The MNR has responded to 757 blazes with still over 3 weeks left in the season.
Massive blazes near Sioux Lookout, Ignace and Kenora helped boost the total number of hectares burned to over 268,000 this summer.
Hundreds of crews were also sent to Manitoba, British Columbia and Alberta to battle huge fires in those regions.
