Lightning is causing new fires in the district.
Two new lightning caused fires were reported in the Nipigon district, northwest of Nakina.
The first is 1.5 hectares and the second is 0.5 hectares.
Due to storms passing through the north that could spark new fires the fire hazard has changed.
The hazard is moderate in most of the region and high in the Thunder Bay and Nipigon districts.
The hazard is low in the far north.
