A regional expert in political science says President Trump’s decision to axe the FBI Director is a stunning move.
Laure Paquette says the firing is bad timing and suspicious.
Paquette notes the move was made around the time James Comey was looking for more money for his investigation into Russia.
She says there’s no evidence to show that the Trump election campaign colluded with the Russians.
However, Paquette says there’s a very obvious pattern of whenever somebody uncovers something about a Russian connection into election meddling, Donald Trump either attacks the press or does something distracting.
Paquette says even if there is no fire, Trump is making plenty of smoke.
Meantime, Donald Trump is going against White House comments on the issue, bluntly saying it was his idea and he was the one who fired Comey.
