The first aboriginal Lieutenant Governor of Ontario says he is proud of his heritage.
James Bartleman, who opened the Ontario Metis Nation Assembly in Kenora Monday, is touring the Northwest.
Bartleman says his mother was native and his father was white and he claims he had the best of both worlds.
Bartleman is also proud of the Metis and how they have been able to preserve their culture over the years.
He will also visit Fort Frances and Quetico Park.
