The first barrier has been removed in John Meek’s bid to establish a
wood handling, merchandising and chipping operation in the Airport Road
and Barclay Hall Road area.
The deadline to appeal the rezoning of the 10-acre property has passed
and no submissions were made.
The next step is the site plan agreement.
Council will need to approve the agreement that will cover several
issues including hours of operation, lighting, noise and entrance approval.
Hours of operation may be a sticky point as some on Council have
voiced concern during the lengthy application process.
