First Canadians leave Gaza

Dozens of Canadians have left the Gaza Strip as the Israel-Hamas war rages on.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly confirmed Tuesday that a first group was able to leave via the Rafah crossing into Egypt.

Global Affairs said as of Tuesday night, 75 Canadians and family members had crossed the border so far.

Adding that the situation is quite fluid and unpredictable, the department said more departures from Gaza are planned for Wednesday.
