The first coach of Eric Radford calls his Olympic showing inspirational for young figure skaters across northwestern Ontario.
Debra Geary says a number of skaters in the Red Lake area tuned in to watch Radford skate to Gold and Bronze at the Games.
Geary strongly believes that his performance could pave the way for future Olympians.
She says kids do see their dreams of getting to the Games through Radford and realize that performing on the ice at the Cochenour Arena could get them to places where he has been.
Geary says Radford always takes time to meet with young skaters, and answering questions on what it takes to succeed.
The native of Balmertown is expected to return to the community in late March or April.
