First Nation Expected to Set Up Barriers

A Northern Ontario First Nation plans to set up barriers today to block exploration activity at what could be the world’s biggest source of stainless steel.
The Chief of Marten Falls, about 500-kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay, says he’s frustrated that some companies working at the Ring of Fire chromite deposit are ignoring his community’s efforts to benefit from the development.
Eli Moonias says they want them to use their air strip and winter road at the fly-in reserve.
Moonias says they are not against mining and want to do business with them.
