Fisher calls FF border difficult 2

The vice-president of the Northwestern Ontario Tourism Association says the numbers are down for crossings at Fort Frances.

Jerry Fisher told the Chamber of Commerce Tuesday visitors crossing at the Fort Frances location are down 56 percent since 1972.

The NWOTA V.P. also says Canada is going to lose out on over a billion dollars in tourism because of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

That program will force U.S. residents to have passports to return to the states when travelling by vehicle.
