Special Teams play doesn’t appear to be an issue for the Dryden Ice Dogs.
The SIJHL club opened its 9th season with a convincing 9-1 victory over the Sioux Lookout Flyers Tuesday night.
The Dogs scored 5-times on the powerplay and added 2-shorthanded goals.
Forward BJ McClellan, who scored a goal, was also impressed with his teams defense.
His brother Ben powered Dryden with a pair of markers.
Mike Lennon, David Goebel, Jon Mitchell, Garrett Nystedt, Kevin Burton and Tim Kavanaugh added singles.
Peter Emery picked up a win in his first SIJHL game.
Adam Wensley responded late for the Flyers, who now drop to 0-3.
