Flavour Gone Asking for Amendment

Chewing tobacco is a major problem in Northwestern Ontario according to the Flavour Gone Committee.
The group appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health last week in support of Bill C-32, legislation intended to ban flavoured tobacco products like cigarillos.
Dryden’s Sam McKibbon made the trip to Ottawa asking for an amendment to include the banning of flavoured chew tobacco.
McKibbon says 15% of youth in our region use flavoured chew.
Caitlin Bousfield, Roberta Lappage as well as Red Lake’s Catherine Kiewning all appeared before the Standing Committee.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford has stated that he supports such an amendment.
