The Northwestern Health Unit has seen a significant jump
in the number of area residents getting their flu shots.
Last year at this time only a thousand had ventured out
to be vaccinated, compared to over 10-thousand currently.
Spokesperson Cindy McKinnon believes the holiday season
and colder weather may have spurred residents into action
to protect themselves.
