Dryden residents will decide whether or not fluoride should be added to
the City’s water system.
The question will be included on the Municipal election ballot after
the Northwestern Health Unit collected the required number of names on a
petition under Provincial Legislation.
Clerk Colleen Brosseau says if voters decide fluoride is needed,
Council will need to pass a resolution to that effect.
n029 runs: 23 sec. out…appropriate bylaw.
Council has rejected the fluoride option twice since 2003 due to
costs and safety concerns for staff at the water treatment plant.
The Health Unit says fluoride prevents tooth decay.
