Flyers 1 – 1 on Weekend Action

Snapping back from a 5-2 loss to Duluth Friday, the Sioux Lookout Flyers rode a 49-save performance from Jayme Brattengeier to beat the Thunder Bay North Stars 4 – 1 Saturday.
The Flyers hit twice in the opening minutes spelling a quick end to Stars’ starter Mikell Bilodeau’s night as Jacob Nolan and Tim McFatridge both found the back of the net before the four-minute mark.
An Anthony Wolfe power play tally late in the second stanza made 3-0 after 40 minutes as his effort beat Carter McEachren, who had come in to replace Bilodeau early on.
Wolfe would extend the lead quickly in the third before newcomer Brennen Dubchak dashed Brattengeier’s shutout bid with 15 minutes to go on a man advantage marker.
Former North Stars defenceman Jacob Brown dished out three assists in the victory for the Flyers in a game that saw his side get outshot 50-25.
