Forest fire hazard drops to low

What a difference a few days makes.

Last week, the fire hazard was in the high to extreme range right across northwestern Ontario.

Now, the entire region is in the low range.

There are just three active fires in the northwest region with two being under control.

The biggest fire in the region, Dryden #11 located north of Ignace on the east side of Sandbar Lake is now being held at 150 hectares.

Cool, damp conditions over the last few days have helped MNR fire rangers put out two fires in the last 24 hours.
