Forest Fire Update

There was somewhat of a break on the forest fire front.
Information Officer Debbie McLean of the Ministry of Natural Resources says there were five new fires on Saturday and by the end of the day on Sunday there were 7 new fires.
Most of them were in the Northern portion of the region, such as the Sioux Lookout District, Red Lake District and Nipigon District.
She says scattered rain has helped put a dampener on some of them, but there hasn’t been much in the North, which is keeping crews busy.
