The Ministry of Natural Resources is dispelling rumors that an evacuation order will be placed in Sioux Lookout.
Winds have shifted blowing heavy smoke into the community.
Information Officer Dave Jackson says the MNR has met with Health Officials to draft an action plan.
Residents who are concerned with the smoke and their health should close their windows, shut down air exchangers and air conditioners as well as limit outdoor physicial activities.
You can also contact the Northwestern Health Unit, a clinic or your doctor.
Jackson says the smoke is expected to settle in Sioux Lookout for the next 48 hours however there is still no threat to the community.
The blaze, north of town, is now over 31,000 hectares and growing.
Heavy smoke is also causing poor visibility for water bombers and preventing ground crews from moving in.
The smoke may also drift into the Dryden-Ignace area this afternoon.
Travel is still restricted on Vermilion River road north of the town and on Lac Seul.
Three, 20 person crews from B.C. are expected to join Ontario and Alberta counterparts in fighting the fire later today.

There are also 2 small fires under attack in the Fort Frances District but the MNR says both are responding well to suppression efforts.
