Former Dryden Man Fighting To Bring Daughter Home

A former Dryden area resident says Canada has failed his family.

Eight years ago a couple met a young stateless Haitian orphaned girl while conducting a humanitarian trip in the Dominican Republic and they worked with the government to adopt the girl.

Vaden Earle says Widlene is now a vulnerable child in a very difficult situation of imminent danger and he’s trying to bring her back to Canada.

He says he’s had no luck with the Trudeau government to open the door to immigration despite top officials saying that they have done everything correctly to allow the move.

Vaden stresses the Immigration Department can push the request through and he has some of Canada’s top Immigration lawyers working on this file.

He says its now time to ramp up the pressure and he’s urging the public to take action and lobby MP’s to bring the 12-year-old girl to Canada.

Vaden Earle stresses there’s a sense of urgency as Haitians are no longer welcome in the Dominican Republic, noting she’s been targeted for exploitation on several occasions and has access to none of the basic rights afforded to all citizens.

He says the lack of cooperation is mind-blowing considering Justin Trudeau campaigned on a promise to be more open on immigration.

A previous attempt to bring Widlene to Canada was thwarted by a major earthquake that destroyed all paperwork to facilitate the move.
