Fort Frances is expressing concern with the cost of having the OPP patrol its streets.
Councillor Rick Wiedenhoeft says the cost to contract police services has increased 47% over the past decade, to almost $2.5-million this year.
Wiedenhoeft wants the province to help ease the burden.
Fort Frances disbanded its own municipal force in favour of the OPP in 1996.
