A Fort Frances man convicted of murdering his parents has failed to
take his case to Canada’s top court.
The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear an appeal from James
Perlett, who was found guilty of the 1996 slayings of his mother and father.
Perlett, who was 19 at the time, claimed his parents were killed by a
masked intruder who also shot him, but few believed the story.
Perlett is now serving a life sentence with no parole for 18
years and has continued to maintain his innocence.
