A Fort Frances man convicted of shooting his parents to death with a
semi-automatic target pistol while they slept isn’t getting a new trial.
The Ontario Court of Appeal says the evidence against Jamie Perlett is
overwhelming.
Perlett claimed his mother and father were shot by a masked intruder
but police and prosecutors did not believe him.
They said all the evidence pointed to an inside job.
He was convicted on 2 counts of second-degree murder in the shooting
deaths and sentenced to life imprisonment with no eligibility for parole for
18 years.
