As promised by the mayor and council, this year’s municipal tax hike for Fort Frances ratepayers is going to be much smaller than last year’s increase.
In passing a preliminary budget, town council has agreed to an overall municipal tax increase of 2 percent for all classes.
For a homeowner with a 100-thousand dollar property assessment that amounts to an increase of roughly 22 dollars this year.
Meantime, the public has a chance to learn more about the preliminary budget during a special meeting on Monday, May 2nd.
