Foul play not suspected in fatal fire in Pikangikum

The OPP say the name of the deceased in a fatal fire on the Pikangikum First Nation still hasn’t been released.

The remains of one person were found and a forensic post-mortem exam is being conducted.

At this time, police don’t believe foul play is involved, but the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office is continuing to investigated the cause of the blaze.

The fire took place on the morning of July 4th around 7:30.

11 people, including children, made it out of the house safely.
