It was a cold day for skiing at the NORWOSSA Nordic Ski Championship in Kenora Wednesday, but that didn’t stop local athletes from burning up the challenging course.
Dryden’s Eric Schmidt won the Junior Boys 5-kilometre race, while Adrian Lizzi came in third.
The Senior Girls race was won by Manon Magnon of Kenora, while Dryden’s Candace Glowa came home with a bronze medal.
Kenora’s Eric Lockhart took home gold in the Senior Boys event.
Nicholas Dumontier of Red Lake finished second and Dryden’s Kjell Schmidt came in third.
There was also a race for Grade 7 and 8’s, with Pinewood school racer Mike Hodgkinson finishing third.
