The Fraser Institute is defending its annual report card on secondary school achievement.
Of the 9-schools rated in Northwestern Ontario, only 3 were above the Provincial average.
Michael Thomas is with the right-wing think-tank and says as long as the Province continues to provide the data, they will continue to rank the schools.
Dryden High School scored a 5.9 out of 10, Red Lake 5.1 out of 10 and Sioux Lookout 0.8.
Atikokan High School was the top rated in the region at 7.3 out of 10, Thomas Aquinas in Kenora was just behind at 7.2, while Rainy River was next at 6.1.
Fort Frances was 5.1 and Beaver Brae 3.8 out of 10.
