A new study released by the Fraser Institute suggests risks related to fracking are real, but are manageable with current technology.
Dr. Kenneth P. Green says Canada has a lot to gain from the fracking process.
Green says Canada is essentially sitting on a gold mine in terms of its wealth of natural gas.
Green notes in the United States, a million wells have been hydraulically fractured and there’s only one possible instance of water contamination, which he attributes to a poorly constructed water well.
He adds Canada has not had any instances of well contamination.
