Fraud in Dryden

Dryden Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for unknown people or organizations looking for your personal information or money.
Police say an elderly woman was contacted by a man who said he was calling on behalf of her grandson.
He said her grandson was in trouble and asked for $4,500.
The woman contacted police and did not send any money.
A second person was contacted through the mail.
Police say a Dryden resident received a letter claiming a person with the same last name of his family had been killed during the 2004 Tsunami.
The letter said the person left behind $10-million and offered to help the resident access the money.
Police say the letter asked for personal information.
Police are urging people to contact them if they are unsure about anyone asking for personal information or money.
