Fred Mota Reacts To Red Lake Election Win

A new political era begins in Red Lake.

Current Councillor Fred Mota has been elected Mayor, marking an official change following the passing of long-time Mayor Phil Vinet earlier this year.

Mota defeated Dale Kosie, Gary Gazankas and appointed Mayor Sandy Middleton.

He says he’s excited to work with the new Council.

Mota says they have some people that come from all different areas within the community, with a lot of wealth of knowledge, stressing he believes it’s a strong group that will work well together.

There are four new Councillors at the table; Warren Badiuk, Dale Butterfield, Jamie Kristoff and Janet Hager.

He says his first priority is addressing urgent infrastructure needs and moving forward on building a new community Events Centre.
