The Ministry of Natural Resources says a 40,000 hectare forest fire burning 25-kilometres away from Cat Lake went on a bit of a run Thursday.
Information Officer Carin Glassford says they are putting more crews on the blaze to grab a hold of it, but stresses it doesn’t threaten the First Nation community.
Glassford adds the fire situation continues to improve.
There are now 106-forest fires burning in Northwestern Ontario.
