Friday Morning Threat In North Dryden

One person is in custody following an early morning threat in North Dryden.

City Police were called around 12:30 to a disturbance at a home in the 100 block of First Street.

An individual was able to get away and contacted police reporting that they had been assaulted and threatened by a man who was possibly in possession of a firearm.

Due to the potential threat, the area was cordoned off and some area residents were evacuated to a safe location.

Provincial Police, the Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators were called in and after a short time the suspect was contacted inside the home and was arrested without incident.

Dryden Police are investigating and no other information has been provided.
