It was a busy night in the SIJHL, as the league quarter-finals continue. The Dryden Ice Dogs downed the Duluth Clydesdales 6-1 to take a 2 games to none series lead. Games 3 and 4 go Sunday and Monday nights at 6pm from Two Harbors, MN. CKDR will have the call live, starting at 5:45 both nights.
Elsewhere in the SIJHL, the Thunder Bay North Stars shut out the Sioux Lookout Flyers 5-0 to take a 1 game to none series lead.
The Fort Frances Lakers scored a surprise 3-2 win over the Wisconsin Wilderness – only the 2nd time the Wilderness have been defeated on home ice this season. The Lakers lead their best-of-seven series 1 game to none.
In the NORWOSSA high school hockey finals, in boys play, the Fort Frances Muskies hammered the Kenora Broncoes 5-1.
In girls play, the Kenora Broncos fared better – scoring a 2-0 win over the Dryden Eagles. Kenora now leads the best-of-three series 1 game to none. Game two will be in Dryden at 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
