The Dryden Native Friendship Centre is ecstatic to see the announcement of a new affordable housing project come to fruition.
Executive Director Sally Ledger says the project will centre on their Homeward Bound initiative.
The project focuses on providing single Indigenous moms with housing, education, employment and childcare opportunities.
Ledger says they will be involved in the planning to ensure the project is culturally appropriate and meets the communities needs.
She says they are thrilled with the partnership the Friendship Centre has established with the Kenora District Services Board and the Ontario Aboriginal Housing Support Services.
