The provincial government is making a major investment to upgrade community access and forestry roads.
The Liberals have earmarked $74-million for improvements this year.
Minister of Municipal Affairs Bill Mauro says the funding will have major benefits for northern Ontario and the forest industry.
Mauro says by improving and expanding the road network, the government is also increasing access for tourism, economic development, fishing, hunting and camping.
He notes these roads also act as crucial routes for emergency preparedness, fire response and evacuation.
